Headliners and recording artists for Calgary events
Shaw Entertainment helps organisers in Calgary and across Canada book headliners and recording artists for corporate events, galas, festivals and Stampede parties. Tell us who you have in mind, or the kind of name you want, and we find out what is possible.

Sometimes the event needs a name.
A recording artist or a well-known act changes what the invitation says, and it changes how many people come.
Three ways to start
- A name you have in mind
- Tell us who. We find out whether they are free, what they need and what it would take to bring them to your event.
- A name to fit the room
- Give us the audience, the date and a budget range, and we come back with ideas at that level.
- Everything around the headliner
- A headline act arrives with requirements for sound, staging and scheduling. We coordinate those with your venue, and we can book the opening act and the music afterwards.
Ask us about

What to tell us
Four things let us match the act to the event. If you don't know one of them yet, say so and we will work with what you have. Booking more than one act? See how we plan the entertainment around your agenda.
- The name, or the kind of name
- A specific artist, a style of music or an era. All three are a place to start.
- The date and the city
- Well-known acts plan far ahead, and where they need to travel from matters.
- The budget range
- A range is enough. It tells us which conversations are worth starting.
- The venue
- Stage size, power and sound. A headline act will ask, so it helps to know first.
What affects the cost of booking a headline act?
The act, the date and the season, where they are travelling from, the length of the set, and the production they require for sound, lighting and staging. Tell us who you have in mind, or a budget range, and we will find out what is possible.
Questions people ask
- Can you book a specific artist for our event?
- We can ask. Tell us the artist, the date and the city, and we will find out whether it is possible and what it would involve. If it is not, we will tell you plainly.
- Can you suggest a headliner if we do not have a name in mind?
- Yes. Give us the audience, the date and a budget range, and we come back with ideas at that level.
- How far ahead do headline acts need to be booked?
- Further ahead than other entertainment. Well-known acts plan their calendars early, so ask as soon as you have a date.
- What does a headline act need from the venue?
- Usually a proper stage, sound and lighting to the act's requirements, and a room backstage. We get the list from the act and go through it with your venue.
- Can you arrange the rest of the night around the headliner?
- Yes. An opening act, a host for the stage and a band or DJ for afterwards can all be part of the same booking, arranged through one company.
- Do you book tribute acts?
- Ask us. Tribute acts, recording artists and well-known hosts are all arranged on request, for a festival, a Stampede party or a company event.
